Mill Creek Falls

Last Saturday we decided that we needed to get out and do something, especially since it was going to be a nice weekend and we didn't know how many more of these we'd have. Since the coast is 3 hours away, that definitely wasn't the day trip we had in mind! So we decided to take the kids to Mill Creek Falls. It's about an hour drive and we hadn't been there since I was pregnant with Lylee. We took the All-Terrain stroller (Ok, it's just a jogging stroller but works wonders on rocky areas. So smooth!) and the pack for the kids. We started out Lylee walking and Lona riding in the stroller and hiked to go see the waterfalls.

Here's Lona and daddy when we stopped to look at the waterfalls.

Mommy and Lylee by the waterfall. Lylee was a little disappointed that this is as close as we could get. There is also a drop off to the river right behind us that Lylee tripped in front of and gave all of us a heart attack. She had to hold our hands at all times. That's why she has a weird face right here because we freaked out that she almost fell to her death. On a funny note Lylee looked at the bottom of the waterfall and the river and said, "Let's get a boat and go down there!" Just the day before Jer and I were watching "The Office" and Jim and Pam got married in Niagara Falls. Lylee pointed out the waterfalls on the TV. I think she thought we could get on a boat like that and look at the waterfalls. This was a tad bit smaller than Niagara Falls!!

We finally coaxed a smile out of her!

Jer and Lona in front of the waterfall.

The set-up. Jeremy is the real deal hiker with his pack full of our lunch.

I found Lylee some GIANT leaves and the girls thought they were so cool! Here they are sitting on the GIANT tree. Ok, so everything is just GIANT to them because they're so little.

I just think my girls are the cutest! Then we went up and sat on some rocks and ate our lunch we brought. That was pretty funny.

Here we are walking in the giant boulder area. Boulders as huge as... well they're huge! As big as a small house, how about that?

Again... cute!

Little Loners...

Sitting in front of the stream that goes to the waterfall.

Jer likes taking pictures of himself I suppose!

A bit shaded but dad and Lylee in front of the mini-rapids.

The pretty stream and the bright sunshine!

More stream.

After we saw the boulders we were walking back up the path to go to the car and go home. Lylee was such a trooper and walked so far but just couldn't take it anymore. Her feet hurt, her tummy hurt and she was just plain tired. So Lona rode in the pack and Lylee got the stroller. Lona just LOVED riding in the pack and LOVED my hair. She couldn't stop playing with it and grabbing my head, ear, face, anything. It was funny but hard to walk with her doing all this. Here are some pictures of her doing just that!

She thought it was hilarious!

Ok, I draw the line at pulling my mouth!

And again...cute!
